Statement of Faith

We believe in one God. (Exodus 3:6-14)

We believe in “creation” as the Bible makes clear in the first two chapters of Genesis.

We believe in our Savior, Jesus Christ, who is the only begotten son of God; the Word made flesh. (John 1:14)

We believe that Christ died for us and that He was raised from the dead. (Romans 6:4; Revelation 1:18)

We believe that Christ died for us all. (Romans 5:8)

We believe in the anointing sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Calvary. (Romans 5:11) This opened the way for all of us to receive forgiveness for our sins through repentance. (1 John 2:2)

We believe that Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven. (Mark 16:19; Hebrews 8:1)

We believe that Christ will return to us at the second advent. (Zechariah 14:4; Acts 1:9-14) He will rule as our King during the Millennium (1000 years). (Revelations 20:4; Zechariah 14:9)

We believe that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

We believe that baptism by water is ordained of God for all believers. (Matthew 3:13-15; Romans 6:3-5; aCTS 2:37-39)

We believe in communion as established by Jesus Christ. (Matthew 26:26-29; Corinthians 10:16)

We believe in prayer; that it should include that God's will be done on earth. (Matthew 6:10; 1 John 5:14-15) Forgiveness is required in order to be forgiven. (Matthew 6:14) The Holy Spirit will assist us in prayer. (Romans 8:26-27) We pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ; this assures that we will be heard. (John 15:16; James 1:6-7)

We believe homosexual acts committed by man or woman to be unclean, unnatural, and against the will of God. (Romans 1:25-27)

We believe that Jesus Christ became our rest and that He defeated death and became our Sabbath. (Hebrews 4:8; Colossians 2:16-17)

We believe that the new covenant was made with Israel; (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 8:8-12) which means that Israel was to become Christian and that Jesus confirmed that covenant. (Galatians 3:16-17; Romans 15:8)

We believe that Israel was promised redemption; (Psalms 1307-8; Isiah 52:3; Hosea 13:9-14) that Jesus Christ came to Israel (Matthew 10:6) and that he was recognized as the redeemer of Israel (Galatians 4:5; Titus 2:14) and that His death and resurrection accomplished that redemption. (Galatians 4:4-5; Hebrews 9:12)

We believe that after Christ was resurrected, Israel was to be called a new name. (Isaiah 62:2) Israel was not to be remembered by her old name, (Hosea 2:17) and the new name was to be the Lord's name (2 Chronicles 7:14) which would be Christian (Christ Man). (Acts 11:26; 1 Peter 4:16)

We believe that Satan exists and was known as the serpent in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 3:1; Revelation 12:9) He has power with devils and men. (Matthew 12:22; 1 Peter 5:8) Satan has a people who will not hear god; (John 8:44-47) some of whom deceive people as “ministers of righteousness”. (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

We believe that Jesus Christ and His followers are batteling against Satan and his followers, )Ephesians 6:11-19) and Jesus Christ is victorious. (Isaiah 28:21-22)

We believe that Paul wrote the second book of Thessalonians due to his first book being misunderstood. His second book makes clear that the last trump sounds after the five month tribulation of Satan. He supports this with two signs of which neither was present in his time: the apostasy and the man of lawlessness. Understand that apostasy means giving up or renouncing one's principles of faith. This comes to pass when the religious lamb (the false messiah) (Revelation 13:11) lets us know that he will look like the Lamb of God but speak like the dragon, i.e. Satan. (Revelation 12:9) Many, many will be deceived into believing that this evil one is Jesus Christ and the elect will be called upon by God to allow the holy Spirit to speak through them. (Mark 13:9) We are to remain a spiritual virgin until the return of our Savior, Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthian 11:2) As Christ stated in Mark 13:17, “Woe unto them that are with Child in those days.”

We are expected to understand God's Word and Lakeshore Bible is dedicated to this single purpose.
