Have you ever thought about why you must face the adversities that life throws your way? Are the trials you face intentional and is it possible that God has a purpose for testing you?
Peter addresses this subject in 1 Peter 1:7 KJV:
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Your faith is on trial and in the flesh you’re given this opportunity to prepare for His return. Take advantage and show Him that you’re made of sterner stuff; Show Him that you have what it takes. Don’t miss this precious opportunity to shine; don’t miss this opportunity to show Him that you care.
1 Peter 1:23-25 KJV is where Peter illustrates that your flesh, like gold, is corruptible but does serve a purpose for God: It presents you with an offer to show Him all your love.
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Passing the test places you with Christ in your incorruptible (spiritual) body and time is unmeasured when you abide with the Lord. Next, Peter describes what happens to your corruptible (flesh) body, after its purpose has been served:
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
Yes, your flesh and its glory will fade away and now Peter preaches to you that God’s Word makes it possible for you to abide with Him…forever:
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
The Word of God endureth forever and through His Word, so can you!
Are you making the effort to live your life through His Word?
Is your faith strong enough for you to (pass the test)?
