Earth’s Last 6000 Years comes in three notable 2000 year segments and we begin by asking ourselves: Was it 6000 years ago that earth began and what is it that influences our thinking, science, scripture or religious tradition? Perhaps all three affect how we view it.
Scripture shows Christ being here 2000 years ago and 2000 years earlier takes us back to Noah’s Flood and 2000 years before that God created Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
Journeying back to the Garden does not take us back to earth’s beginning as both God’s Word and science show it to be older than that. Carbon date testing of rocks show earth dating back millions of years and fossilized animals exist today that took millions of years to fossilize.
Science and God’s Word take us back to a time known by us as Eons, a time that has no beginning or end.
The Age of Eons preceding Adam and Eve are but one of the reasons that nowhere in scripture will you see earth’s age shown in years. Genesis 1:1 KJV addresses The Beginning but does not make note of any number of years passing since earth began:
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
God has no beginning so earth’s beginning has to be somewhere during His time, give or take a million years.
And dates confuse many; perhaps it is because “was” in Genesis 1:2 KJV was mistranslated. The translators mentioned having difficulty translating some of the words:
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
Your Strong’s Concordance shows “was” to be an incorrect translation and when reviewing “Hayah”, the Hebrew verb being translated, you observe that it should have been translated “Became”:
Hayah: a primitive root (compare 'hava'' (1933)); to exist, i.e. be or become, come to pass (always emphatic, and not a mere copula or auxiliary): beacon, altogether, be(-come), accomplished, committed), cause, come (to pass), happen
“Come to pass” says it all and when you insert “became” for “was”, verse two reads:
And the earth “became” without form, and void; and darkness came upon the face of the deep.
God did create earth perfectly but afterwards something happened.
“Becoming without form and void” takes us back into the Eons, a time when this darkness appeared; it is this “Age” that prevents
