FAITH COMMENTARY
"You are scattered"
In your bible, more than a hundred verses were utilized to make a single point. God says…You are scattered! You may wonder why God is so persistent about making this point yet you cannot question His right to express Himself; “You are scattered” may include a message to you. Your bible is a reliable source for information; Psalm 119:105 KJV refers to His Word as a lighted pathway to answers:

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path

Your pathway to light begins in James 1:1 KJV where you learn that the Book of James is written to God’s Children, scattered abroad:

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes, which are, scattered abroad, greeting.

Have you considered that this Book may be written to you? The Scattered are God’s Children that have been driven abroad, not even knowing who their ancestors are. Is it possible that you are scattered and the Lord is reaching out to you; how far back have you researched your family?

Your search continues in the Old Testament where Ezekiel, like James, is addressing God’s Scattered Children. From Ezekiel 34:5-6 KJV, verse (5) reads:

And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

Turning away from God removes your Shepherd; verse (6) continues the thought:

My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

Before continuing with the subject of God’s Scattered Children, you must first realize who the sheep are; Ezekiel 34:31 KJV tells to whom these verses are addressed:

And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord God.

God is addressing you; His scattering is total and complete! Speaking plainly and in a language of truth, He uses down to earth examples that you understand; Christ is your Shepherd and you are the scattered sheep.

Without a Shepherd, you are open prey to the beast of the field; you are helpless! Could God be utilizing Ezekiel to shine light into your past and might James be the porter opening the door to your future, a future that includes the return of a Shepherd with a familiar voice? John 10:4 KJV lights your way into that fold:

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

You recognized the voice of

your Shepherd before you were scattered and when He putteth you forth again, you know it again. With a Shepherd to lead you, you share a feeling of comfort and protection; you are no longer scattered.

Researching the 108 verses addressed to God’s Scattered Children lets you know whether you are included or not. The stronger your appetite is to be included, the more likely you are.

In Ezekiel 20:41 KJV, God discusses bringing you back from the countries to which you were scattered:

I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.

How strong your appetite must be; the Lord readies you with the strength of His Word and with sweet savour, He brings you home again.

You suffer no identity crisis with the Lord. The more you understand His Word, the more un-scattered you become; it changes your life!
