"Understanding God's Temple"

God's temple takes on different meaning with different people. Scripture informs us that the priest did not under- stand Jesus when He referred to His body as God's Temple. Christ is speaking to them in John 2:19-21 KJV:
[19] Jesus answered and said unto them, destroy this temple, and in three days I will
raise it up. [20] Then said
the Jews, Forty and six years was this
temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
[21] But he spake of the temple of his body.
As the priest misunderstood Christ, do you fail to understand that God considers your body His Temple? 1 Cor. 3:16-17 KJV is where God discusses this point with you:
[16] Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
[17] If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
Do you think as much of your-self as God thinks of you? Your body is His Temple and He doesn't appreciate it when you or anyone else fails to recognize this. Taking care of your body is a requirement and it shows respect to your Maker.
Paul adds clarity in 1 Cor. 6:19 KJV:
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
Your importance to God could not be made clearer and
your body is not yours to do with as you please. He wants you, He needs you and through Christ, He dwells in you. Observe the Words of Christ as He speaks to you in Rev. 3:11- 12 KJV:
[11] Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
[12] Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Will you become that pillar in God's Temple?
Are you overcoming and holding fast and showing Him that you respect His Temple...your body?y
