What is salvation and how do you obtain it?
The apostle Peter is describing salvation in 2 Peter 3:15 KJV:
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
Both Peter and Paul explain how Christ died on the cross to provide you a pathway to salvation. 1 Thes. 5:8-9 KJV is where Paul describes your role in accepting this gift:
 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
You wear this helmet of hope knowing that salvation is free but you must obtain it through His Word. You learn of this in Ephes. 6:17 KJV:
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
You find in Psalm 119:41 KJV that His Word is where you find your Helmet of Salvation:
Let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even thy salvation, according to thy word.
Its Isaiah 25:9 KJV where God prophesies that you will rejoice in His Salvation:
And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Do you hear Isaiah’s prophecy calling out to you and do you seek the comfort that it provides?
Is your helmet in place allowing you to accept this gift that Christ sends you from the cross?
