Matthew 1:18 (KJV) is where you learn about the virgin birth of Christ. The world knowing this to be Jesus is why CHRISTMAS SHOPPING is something you do today:
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Many today are forgetting the role that Christ plays in Christmas yet there is something that you can do about it; you can change how they view CHRISTMAS SHOPPING, where it originated and what it celebrates.
That change begins by you setting an example for them, an example that leads them to wanting Christ returned to Christmas and this leads to you asking: How do I do that?
Changing CHRISTMAS SHOPPING habits begins with you looking for obstacles that may stand in the way.
Your search begins in Philippians 1:22 (KJV) where Paul is addressing a weakness that you all have, one that may be a factor in Christ being overlooked by you:
But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
Paul is making the point that even though you labor to do well, flesh, being sin, subjects you to a weaken state.
And when Paul says “what I shall choose I wot not”, He wants you to know that flesh weakens you, weakens you to the point that you do things that you do not want to do. You failing to build Christmas around Christ may put you in this category.
But it is a weakness that you can turn into a positive. You can help those that have it reverse it and put Christ back in CHRISTMAS SHOPPING.
Helping them to reverse their views begins in the Old Testament where Zechariah 9:9 (KJV) shows Zechariah prophesying the Birth of Christ:
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
Just as prophesied, Christ did come and He brought Salvation and Christmas with Him and by His own purpose and grace, 2 Timothy 1:9 (KJV) shows Him calling you, to be with you and to save you:
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Were you aware that Jesus existed before the world began and that He gave you purpose and grace then? Is knowledge of this bringing you closer to Christ?
Helping others this Christmas requires that ye receive one another just as Romans 15:7 (KJV) shows Christ receiving you:
