"A Sharp Twoedged Sword"

Revelation is the last book in your bible and it is a word that means to reveal or to make known. Rev. 1:16 KJV uses a Sharp Twoedged Sword to reveal that Christ is the truth, the Living Word of God:

And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Metaphorically speaking, God, through John, has a Sword coming from the mouth of Christ and it references His Tongue. Here a Sharp Twoedged Sword is the Tongue of Christ that only speaks Truth and like a sharp sword His Tongue (Truth) cuts in both directions.

Recognizing Christ as Truth and the Word completes your first step and now you must recognize that the Sharp Twoedged Sword of Christ is competing with man’s word for your attention. Pausing to consider this may cause you to ask yourself: How do I distinguish one from the other?

First you must recognize that man’s word presents man’s views and scripture present the Truth; it tells a story about God and His family along with opportunities and obstacles that we all face along the way; 2 Peter 1:8 KJV tells how Truth benefits you:

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Truth makes you fruitful as knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ is that Truth in you; it comes from a sharp Twoedged Sword that is easily identifiable. Full of common sense and with the help of your Strong’s Concordance, the manuscripts back it up; 2 Peter 1:9 KJV tells where the undocumented word takes you:

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Is the lack of knowledge blinding you? Too many today depend on someone else to interpret scripture for them. This is not good as Genesis to Revelation is the Sharp Twoedged Sword that tells God’s story and where you belong in it.

John 14:6 KJV further identifies Christ as Revelation’s Sharp Twoedged Sword of Truth:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

A metaphor of God’s, this Sharp Twoedged Sword shines Truth to you…through Jesus.
