"Your Best Friend"

When things go wrong, it’s a best friend who helps make things right as they attempt to comfort you. Proverbs 27:9 KJV refers to this friendship as sweetness worth rejoicing:

Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.

Christ is your Lord and Your Best Friend! John 3:29 KJV teaches that as bride of the bridegroom, you rejoiceth in this friendship:

He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

Christ (Your Bridegroom), in addition to fulfilling your needs, removes hopelessness. 1 Cor. 10:13 KJV shows how Your Best Friend shoulders problems with you:

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Hard times confront and tempt all alike but you can always count on Your Best Friend to never allow you to face a situation or problem greater than you can bear. An escape is available; He sees to it!

Hosea 6:6 KJV tells what Your Best Friend seeks in return:

For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Love and you learning more about Him is what God seeks and Proverbs 8:21 KJV shows Your Best Friend’s response to complying:

That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

With your treasures being filled, paying attention to Your Best Friend requires a devoted effort:

How devoted are you to Your Best Friend and how much time are you spending learning more about Him?
