"Understanding Good and Evil"

Deut. 30:15 KJV introduces us to Good and Evil, choices that God gives us to understand and make:

See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

Good in this verse leads to Life and Evil to death. They are the two choices that God gives us, choices we must make.

Understanding Good and Evil enables us to choose and scripture devotes much attention to helping do it. We cannot make a choice that does not lead to one or the other. Genesis 2:9 KJV introduces us to Good and Evil by making reference to two trees, one being the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil:

And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

This tree is Satan and The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is a title that he has earned. He earned the “Good” portion of this title guarding God’s Throne when he was the archangel Lucifer and the “Evil” portion” was earned when he became Satan and turned against God.

Through Adam and Eve, Genesis 2:17 KJV warns us not to eat of this tree as it represents the partaking of Satan’s offerings:

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Eating or partaking of Satan’s offerings brings “Death” to us, a spiritual death that following Satan brings about. Genesis 3:5 KJV shows that eating thereof opens eyes to Satan and Good and Evil:

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

A capitol “G” in scripture represents God, our maker and little “g” references Satan and his little gods, things that take the place of God, things that separate us from God.

Suffering this spiritual death is avoidable as Genesis 3:22 KJV tells that in addition to the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil, there is a second tree, The Tree of Life (God) the Tree that extends its branches to us:

And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Eating or partaking of The Tree of Life is eating and living forever; we know of it as Eternal Life; Ezekiel 5:17

KJV shows God placing the other tree, the choice of evil before us and what He does to those that accept it…His Sword cuts two ways:

So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the Lord have spoken it.

Discernment of Good and Evil is required; Hebrews 5:14 refers to it as strong meat:

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Understanding Good and Evil is discernment as it enables us to make clear choices. Deut. 31:29 KJV shows that many in these end times are making the wrong choice:

For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

What are we to do? With us living this prophecy of Moses, blowhard preachers use radio and television to lead us away from God’s Word and the leaders of our nation supplement their efforts by removing God as a directional tool when leading our nation.

Are you able to discern the Good and Evil that God is making available to you?

Will you be utilizing discernment in the upcoming elections?

Will you be sharing Understanding Good and Evil with others?
