Satan’s last visit to earth took place when Christ was here. Satan, knowing that Christ had just finished 40 days and 40 nights of fasting, thought he would take advantage of this unique opportunity; Luke 4:6-7 KJV shows him tempting Christ with an offer:
And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
Luke 4:8 KJV shows that even though Christ was in a weakened state, He experienced no difficulty in dealing with him:
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Get thee behind me is exactly what Satan did and with no authority to move elsewhere, he remains there today, in Heaven, behind Christ.
Figuring out what Satan is up to requires not only looking into his past but also the past of his Fallen Angels. Both having already been sentenced to hell, Ezekiel 28:18 KJV shows Satan receiving his:
Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
Bring thee to ashes is his sentence to hell but it will not take place until everyone else is judged and even though Satan is locked in Heaven, God allows his evil spirit to roam the earth.
Some do not understand that Satan is the subject of the entire 28th chapter of Ezekiel but Ezekiel 28:14 KJV offers proof:
Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
“Cherubs” are Archangels and your bible speaks to two of them, Michael and Lucifer. Lucifer is the Archangel addressed in this verse.
After being responsible for guarding God’s Throne, Lucifer (Satan) decided that he deserved to sit on it; he made the decision to take God’s place and this is the reason that God sentenced him to hell. Jude 1:6 KJV shows his Fallen Angels having received the same sentence:
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Keeping not their first estate was them disobeying
