Have you ever caught yourself daydreaming about where you were before you entered enter your flesh body? Well, the answer is: You were in your other body…your spiritual body. God has placed you in your flesh body to be tested and in
God has placed us in flesh bodies for the purpose of testing us; He wants to know how He stands with us. Flesh is weak; it allows us to be tested by sin. This allows God to find out who is going to follow Him and who will follow Satan.
Flesh testing us serves a worthwhile purpose for God and us for it is the only way that God can find out who loves Him; it also allows us to learn who Christ really is. Cor. 5:16 KJV addresses this challenge; it is the reason that we are being tested:
Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
Out of sight, out of mind musters no results…Passing the test requires more than believing what you see; it requires faith, it requires believing in Christ.
Understanding that we have two bodies helps in addressing makes passing the test of the flesh a bit easier; 2 Cor. Verses 6&8 KJV introduces us to two timeframes…one where we are absent from the Lord and the other where we are with Him:
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Being present with the Lord places us in a different dimension; it requires being in a different body. 1 Cor. 15:40 KJV teaches this:
There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
With the requirement of residing in two bodies, both celestial and terrestrial, we have only one soul and it identifies us in both bodies.
Glory in the flesh or terrestrial body comes from passing the test that our flesh presents to us and the glory of the heavenly or celestial body comes from sharing the eternity with God.
Our flesh bodies are testing us and this testing serves God and us. By passing, we become a Christ Man, a Christian and in 2 Cor. 5:17 KJV, we see this taking place:
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Our flesh is testing us and passing it brings us new life; it brings us Christ.
Is Christ reaching you?
