FAITH COMMENTARY
"Christ wants to be received"

The First and Second Comings of Christ serve different purposes but they do address Him wanting to be received by you yet in John 14:17 KJV today’s biggest disappointment is disclosed, the world about you choosing not to see or receive Him:

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Knowing that you receive Him, He anticipates you helping Him with the obstacles that He faced at His First Coming and those that He will be facing when He returns, others denying the Spirit of His Truth.

Christ wanting to be received at His First Coming was obvious but looking back at how the world received Him shows the opposite happening. Galatians 6:14 KJV shows that we crucified Him:

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

The only glory that Christ was seeking when He first came was to be accepted by us and you can rest assured that His Second Coming will show Him much less humble; He will not be riding a donkey! Malachi 3:2 KJV compares it to a refiner’s fire:

But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' sope:

Fuller’s Soap is washing with alkaline. Washing out impurities, it, along with refiner’s fire, a process of melting precious metals to remove their impurities, describe the doings of Christ at His Second Coming…Removing impurities from something very precious to Him, us.

With a strong desire to be received Malachi 3:16 KJV shows Christ listing those that think upon His name in a special book, His Book of Remembrance:

Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name.

Recognizing Christ, Malachi 3:17 KJV shows you a part of His jewels and included in the refining process of sparing His children:

And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Sharing the refining process with Christ at His Second Coming is serving

Him and it definitely excludes humbly asking you to receive Him. He is seeking your assistance in the purification process, a process that spares those wanting to serve Him. John 14:23 KJV shows how you recognize them:

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

This recognizing process begins by you asking yourself: Am I receiving Christ?

And the next question you face is: Am I participating in helping others answer this same question?

And finally you want to know: Am I convincing others that keeping Christ’s Word is a requirement for showing Him that we love Him by setting the personal example of doing it?
