FAITH COMMENTARY
"Making it Happen"
Congratulations! Your goals are in place for the year and you’re more determined than ever to live up to your commitments.

Sticking to your game plan is critical but there’s one important detail that cannot be overlooked: The closer you are to God the easier it becomes to accomplish your mission. He anticipates your success and He’s the primary ingredient for making things happen; why is this so?

First understand that God has the power to make it happen; He wants you to succeed. He listens well as He guides you towards reaching your potential. He shows you things to come and in John 16:13 KJV you learn of God’s willingness to work with you:

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Including God is a wise choice! It’s a fool that hates knowledge and leaves God out of the formula. His Word says this in Proverbs 1:22 KJV:

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

Continuing the point, a fool will also ignore the next verse where God describes His desire to be close to you. In Proverbs 1:23 KJV God is telling you that He stands ready to pour His Spirit unto you:

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

He makes His word known unto you for good reason: The better you understand Him, the closer you are to Him. This is the closeness that makes things happen.

This closeness requires hearing and understanding His Word for that’s when His blessings are extended to you; Proverbs 8:34 KJV tells you that:

Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

God wants to share your workload and help you make things happen; will you accept His invitation to come closer to Him?
