FAITH COMMENTARY
"Strengthening your relationship"

This New Year offers renewed opportunity for you to discover the joy and comfort of knowing your Heavenly Father on a more personal basis. The better you know Him, the stronger your relationship becomes.

You may be aware that your bible is the best selling book of all times; it’s a book about God and His involvement with all His Children. You’ve already peeked so you know how the book ends; the bad guys (those that don’t love God) loose! This New Year gives you the opportunity to set in place a plan that allows you to better understand the role that you play with Him.

Christ is waiting for the opportunity to strengthen His relationship with you. Psalm 27:14 KJV describes the courage you need:

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

You’re rewarded for standing with Christ. 1 Peter 5:10 KJV refers you to the importance of seeking strength through Him:

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Will you begin this year by asking Christ to strengthen your relationship with Him?

Remember, Christ is the Word and it’s through His Word that you accomplish this. Just begin your New Year by making the decision to bring His Word deeper into your life; it’s the only way to involve Christ and obtain the comfort that a strong relationship will provide you. Paul makes this point in Romans 15:4 KJV:

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Are you beginning your New Year with hope and a commitment to a strong relationship with your Heavenly Father?

Have you come to the realization that God is and remains, number (1) in your life?
